From April 29 to May 2, 2025, Tunisia hosted the continental conference AGSN – African Green Store Network, across the regions of Thibar and Takelsa.
Over 4 days, more than 50 participants from 13 African countries came together to share, explore, and co-design a bold vision:
An agroecological transition led by vocational training, youth, women, and local territories.

DAY 1
AGSN CONFERENCE
TUNISIA 2025
From Thibar, over 50 participants from 13 African countries gathered to launch a collective dialogue on transforming agriculture across the continent.

• Agroecological transition & food sovereignty
• Reform of vocational training programs• Youth and women inclusion
• Local knowledge & territorial anchoring

Official opening and institutional speeches
Opening keynote: rethinking agriculture as a valued profession rooted in local cultures
Panels on agricultural curricula and inclusive pathways for youth and women
Guided visit to the Dairy Sector Competence Center in Thibar: livestock, hygiene, milk processing & climate adaptation
A powerful first day filled with exchange, inspiration, and commitment to a sustainable, inclusive African agriculture.
DAY 2
AGSN CONFERENCE

A full day of field immersion to discover agroecology in practice

Site visits to farms and training centers
Hands-on observation of sustainable practices: dairy systems, agroforestry, local seeds, applied research...
Critical reflection, shared insights, and co-creation of actionable ideas to strengthen vocational agricultural training across Africa
A meaningful day connecting knowledge, land, and people — shaping the future of agroecological learning.
DAY 3
AGSN CONFERENCE
TUNISIA 2025
Our final day in Thibar brought together beekeeping knowledge and ancient heritage 
A beautiful closing day of training, reflection, and cultural discovery.
Highlights of the day:
A collective exchange on AGSN’s support needs in the beekeeping sector
Technical workshops on colony management and queen rearing
An unforgettable cultural visit to Dougga, a UNESCO World Heritage site
Shared ideas, mutual learning, and heartfelt energy to end the Thibar chapter with meaning

DAY 4
AGSN CONFERENCE
TUNISIA 2025
A powerful closing at the Agricultural Vocational Training Center of Takelsa – CFPA, the first center in Tunisia to integrate formal beekeeping training
Highlights of the day:
Official welcome with speeches by the AGSN president and the center director
Exploration of a pilot center combining territorial anchoring, technical specialization, and pedagogical innovation
Field demonstrations in hive product workshops: honey extraction, wax, pollen, royal jelly, venom, and queen rearing
Learner exhibition showcasing local apicultural products and an innovative hive prototype designed by a graduate
Closing plenary with a formal proposal for CFPA Takelsa to join the AGSN network, followed by a symbolic gesture: gifting jars of honey and pollen to all delegations
A final day that embodied the spirit of the AGSN network: local transformation, practical learning, and South-South collaboration.
A pan-African momentum in motion
AGSN 2025 wasn’t just a conference — it was a movement.
One that brought together African voices rooted in knowledge, territory, youth, and solidarity to build a more just, sustainable, and resilient future.
