Official Launch of the International Conference on the Carbon Market

On Tuesday, 24 February 2026, the International Conference on the Carbon Market as a Lever for Financing Sustainable Development in Africa opened in Mbouo, Cameroon.

The African Green Store Network (AGSN), as part of the KCOA Consortium for the KCOA 2.0 Project, in collaboration with YPARD and PELUMKenya, hosted the epoch-making event.

The opening ceremony was honored by the presence of Mr. Emmanuel Nzete, First Vice-President of the Economic and Social Council of Cameroon, who emphasized the strategic importance of this meeting in accelerating the agroecological transition on the continent.

The program includes a variety of presentations and rich, diverse panels featuring decision-makers, experts, producers, researchers, and development actors who will come together to share and co-construct concrete, sustainable solutions in the African carbon market.

This gathering brought together women, youth, and stakeholders across Africa to strengthen alliances for agroecology and organic agriculture while exploring innovative pathways for sustainable development financing through carbon markets.
